Foundation
Founded in 2024, DOMŪS Architecture is an architectural office providing full architectural, planning, and interior design services. The Studio is led by Omar Velasco García with a rotating crew of talented subconsultants and designers.
Omar Velasco García has worked in respected architecture firms throughout the PNW (Pacific Northwest) collaborating with talented architects. Omar received his bachelor’s degree in architectural design from University of Washington, Seattle, WA, where he was fortunate to be part of respected programs; Rome Study Abroad and Scan | Design Furniture Studio with a study abroad component.
Philosophy
Our work encompasses a collaborative approach with the aim of simplifying a complex process for each of our clients. People are our primary concern and how they integrate with surrounding contexts, enhancing all elements of existing and new while preserving/creating certain atmospheres primal to the senses, elevating the inhabitants to the transcendent.
Cost
Our preference for cost of services is to do an hourly, not to exceed “X” amount, contract for the early conceptual stage so that we can grasp the general direction and budget early on, prior to initiating a full architectural services agreement. Our typical fees are based on a percentage of construction cost and vary depending on project type, size, complexity, and expected timeframes. These fees are on par with industry standards. It is our job to listen and translate everything you share about your project into the overall process and list clearly how to reach those objectives. Our fixed fee will not “creep” unless you decide to change the size, complexity, timeframe, etc. If we miss something you shared with us, that change is on us. Our goal is to create a cohesive and thoughtful design with an accompanying set of construction directions for your chosen builder. Every design is integrated with all required engineering to provide a consistent, functional, and aesthetically coordinated atmosphere for home or work. Our goal is to simplify a complex process while satisfying the desires of each client. We have a creative and talented team of designers and subconsultants to make it all happen.
